Zucchini Noodles with Homemade Turkey Bolognese
My daughter McKenzie asked if I would make zucchini noodles with my homemade bolognese, so I said of course lets see how it goes!
This is a fantastic dish! I made my turkey bolognese as I always do and it is so easy!
2-3 lbs. of organic ground turkey
olive oil
1 onion
garlic
garlic powder
onion powder
Himalayan salt
Pepper
Trocomare seasoning
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 jar spaghetti sauce of your choice
1/2 cup of Ricotta cheese
1 cup Pecorino Romano freshly grated cheese
Zucchini
I coat the pot with olive oil, chop up some garlic, get that browned in the pot, and pile in 2-3 pounds of organic ground turkey.
I season it well with garlic powder, onion powder, my yummy Trocomare seasoning, and Himalayan salt and pepper.
I then place in some crushed tomatoes – usually 1 can, 1 can of tomato sauce, 1 jar of Ragu Traditional or you can use your favorite sauce and mix with crushed tomatoes or the plain tomato sauce. It is totally up to you!
I add in some ricotta maybe a half a cup or you can omit it depends on my mood, but I always add some Pecorino Romano freshly grated cheese – about a cup – and leave the rest to top when meal is done and plated.
I close the lid and let this cook on low for about two hours so the turkey literally cooks in the sauce it makes it so soft!
I then slice my zucchini (or buy already done at Whole Foods) and I put that in a pan with olive oil and I season it with Himalayan sea salt and pepper and toss it around until a little soft not too soft tho and it only takes a few minutes!
Then I just plate and add the bolognese and top with some more grated cheese!
Yummy!
Caio!!!
